自從有了手機(jī)以后,我們似乎多了一樣可以保護(hù)自己的武器。街上偶遇不想見(jiàn)到的人,或者獨(dú)自一人處在陌生的環(huán)境中的時(shí)候,我們都可以拿出手機(jī),讓它靠近耳朵,然后面帶微笑,讓別人以為我們?cè)诖螂娫?,然后尷尬就這么過(guò)去了。這就是cellular faux。
Cellular faux refers to a social phenomenon wherein which a person acts as though he is on his cell phone in order to shield himself from uncomfortable situations.
手機(jī)掩護(hù)法(cellular faux)指有人為了避免使自己陷入尷尬境地而假裝在打電話的情形。
For example:
When Peggy saw the beggar approaching, she flipped open her LG and began laughing incessantly as though someone had told a joke on the other end of the line. Still penniless, the beggar's plan was thwarted by cellular faux.
看到那個(gè)乞丐走過(guò)來(lái),佩琪立馬打開(kāi)自己的LG手機(jī),然后不停地大笑,感覺(jué)好像電話那頭有人在給她講笑話??帐侄鴼w的乞丐就這樣被手機(jī)掩護(hù)法給蒙了。
