又到了一年的尾聲，各大商家的年末促銷大戰(zhàn)也漸次拉開序幕，如火如荼地開展了起來。據(jù)商家估計(jì)，與去年同期相比，今年年末的促銷價(jià)格戰(zhàn)血拼場面將更加激烈。

文中的year-end promotion就是指“年末促銷”，就是商家在年底進(jìn)行的sales campaign（促銷活動(dòng)）。在年底涌起的spending spree（消費(fèi)熱潮）中，由于pure gold（純金）的價(jià)格上漲，鐘愛gold jewelry（黃金珠寶）的消費(fèi)者掀起了一股gold rush（淘金熱）。為應(yīng)對(duì)inflation expectation（通脹預(yù)期），人們對(duì)limited edition gold bars（限量版金條）的購買熱情也空前高漲。
