2016年國考報名已經過半，截至昨日17時，通過審核人數達46萬余人，較前日的報名人數多出了13萬余，迎來報名小高峰。其中，中央職位報考率已達98%，僅有2%的職位零報名。而縣(區(qū))級及以下職位有6%零報名，為目前零報名最多的層級。

又是一年國考（national civil service exam）時，雖然近兩年屢屢有報道說國考在降溫（losing its appeal），但是不少中央職位（jobs offered by central government departments and subsidiaries）仍然倍受青睞。最熱門職位（the most sought-after job）的競爭比例依然超過1000:1，而冷門職位（the least sought-after job）則無人問津，這一類職位多數是縣(區(qū))級及以下職位（jobs at or below the county or district level）。

國考的筆試階段分為行政能力測試（administrative professional ability test）和申論（argumentative essay writing）兩部分。通過筆試者，才有資格參加之后的面試。
