什么是時代的美？戰(zhàn)士那褪了色的、補了補丁的黃軍裝是最美的，工人那一身油漬斑斑的藍工裝是最美的，農民那一雙粗壯的、滿是厚繭的手是最美的。勞動人民那被烈日曬得黝黑的臉是最美的，粗獷雄壯的勞動號子是最美的聲音，為社會主義建設孜孜不倦地工作的人的靈魂是最美的。這一切構成了我們時代的美。如果誰認為這并不美，那他就不懂得我們的時代。

What is the beauty of these times? The soldiers fading and patched yellow uniform, the soiled blue suit of the workingman and the big callused hands of the farmer are the most beautiful things. The sunburned dark faces of the laborer, the glorious sound of the trumpet calling them to work and the souls of the people who devote themselves to socialistic construction are the most beautiful things. All these things combine the beauty of these times. Anyone who doesn’t think it is beautiful doesn’t understand these times.
