“閱兵村”里戰(zhàn)士們正抓緊訓(xùn)練，在國(guó)慶當(dāng)日將在世界面前展現(xiàn)中國(guó)軍隊(duì)的威武之師。而在“閱兵村”外，另一個(gè)群體也在備戰(zhàn)“檢閱”，那就是吹響基層社區(qū)國(guó)慶安保“沖鋒號(hào)”的“紅袖章”。

Restaurant owners, barbers and shopkeepers along Beijing's streets were all given a red armband and everybody is wearing them with pride. The sea of red armbands will frighten the potential attackers, the community official explained.
北京街道沿線(xiàn)的餐館、理發(fā)店，以及商店的老板每人都領(lǐng)到了一個(gè)紅袖章，而且都自豪地戴著。社區(qū)官員解釋說(shuō)，大量的“紅袖章”會(huì)將潛在的違法者嚇走。
在上面的報(bào)道中，red armband就是指“紅袖章”，是發(fā)給安保人員的標(biāo)志。它還可以用來(lái)指“佩戴紅袖章的安保人員”，例如：The red armbands were seen in great numbers last Friday night as well as army officers and police on the Chang'an avenue.（上周五，長(zhǎng)安街上除軍隊(duì)官兵和警察外，還出現(xiàn)了大量的佩戴紅袖章的安保人員。）
在parade rehearsal（游行演練）和military parade（國(guó)慶閱兵）期間，red armbands可以幫助進(jìn)行安保工作，并對(duì)游客進(jìn)行疏導(dǎo)。他們成為60th anniversary celebrations（60周年國(guó)慶）的volunteer team（志愿者隊(duì)伍），并在白天執(zhí)行patrol responsibilities（巡邏任務(wù)）。這種city volunteers program（城市志愿者計(jì)劃）是在去年北京奧運(yùn)會(huì)時(shí)確立起來(lái)的。
