違紀(jì) disciplinary violation/offense

中央組織部有關(guān)負(fù)責(zé)人證實(shí),廣東省深圳市市委副書記、市長(zhǎng)許宗衡,因嚴(yán)重違紀(jì),中央已經(jīng)決定免去其領(lǐng)導(dǎo)職務(wù),現(xiàn)正按程序辦理。

據(jù)官方消息稱,深圳市長(zhǎng)許宗衡因“嚴(yán)重違紀(jì)”已被免去領(lǐng)導(dǎo)職務(wù)。
上面的報(bào)道中,disciplinary violation就是“違紀(jì)”的英文表達(dá),也可以用disciplinary offense表示;換個(gè)說(shuō)法,其實(shí)就是violate the discipline(違反紀(jì)律)的意思。
不管上學(xué)還是上班,我們都需要遵守各種各樣的discipline,如classroom discipline(課堂紀(jì)律),job discipline(勞動(dòng)紀(jì)律),school discipline(校規(guī))等。一旦有人違反了某條紀(jì)律就會(huì)受到懲罰,可能是disciplinary warning(警告處分),disciplinary probation(留校/職察看),也可能會(huì)嚴(yán)重到disciplinary dismissal(開除)。
