前情提要：在道林離開希貝兒后，已懷有身孕的希貝爾投河自盡了。當(dāng)?shù)懒质艿搅夹淖l責(zé)而痛苦萬分時(shí)，亨利及時(shí)出現(xiàn)，并用他的魔鬼哲學(xué)讓道林重新恢復(fù)平靜。從此道林徹底拋開了自己的道德感和良知，縱情于各種肉體的刺激和享受。時(shí)間一天天流逝，道林的畫像逐漸變得猙獰恐怖，而道林本人卻依舊擁有完美的容顏。在巴茲爾發(fā)現(xiàn)那幅扭曲可怕的畫像后，道林還殘忍地將他殺害，并遠(yuǎn)走他鄉(xiāng)。
本片段劇情：二十五年后，道林回到故地，當(dāng)眾人在聚會(huì)上見到他一如當(dāng)年的俊美面容時(shí)，都驚訝得說不出話來。亨利的女兒艾米麗也已經(jīng)長成大姑娘，并對道林產(chǎn)生了濃厚的興趣，但此時(shí)的道林，已不復(fù)是當(dāng)年的那個(gè)純真少年……

妙語佳句 活學(xué)活用
1. play the cynic：作出一副憤世嫉俗的樣子。play在這里是“裝扮，裝得像……”的意思。例如：She likes to play the great lady.（她喜歡裝成貴婦人的樣子。）
2. Oblige me: 幫幫忙。oblige在這里的意思是“施恩惠于，幫……的忙”。例如：Will you oblige me by closing the windows?（勞您駕替我關(guān)上窗好嗎？）
