十八大后，中央大力整頓官場(chǎng)腐敗，官員腐敗問(wèn)題得到遏制。但是，腐敗問(wèn)題不單單是官員自身，官員“后院起火”，“親屬腐敗”的現(xiàn)象也比較突出。

According to People's Daily, of the 34 ministerial and higher-level government officials under investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China, the violations of the law and Party discipline of at least 21 of them involve their relatives. And half of them have taken advantage of their positions to help the businesses of their relatives. People's Daily has termed this kind of phenomenon "backyard corruption".
據(jù)《人民日?qǐng)?bào)》報(bào)道稱，中紀(jì)委公布去年被查處的34名部級(jí)及以上領(lǐng)導(dǎo)干部中，有21人的違法違紀(jì)涉及親屬，其中一半以上屬于利用職務(wù)上的便利為親屬經(jīng)營(yíng)活動(dòng)謀取利益?！度嗣袢?qǐng)?bào)》將這樣的現(xiàn)象稱為“后院腐敗”。

“后院腐敗”（backyard corruption），這里的后院指的是政府官員的家人、親屬，也就是指涉及家人、親屬的腐敗現(xiàn)象。

近年來(lái)，家族式腐?。╢amily corruption）屢見不鮮。一些官員的親屬，利用官員的政治影響力（political influence）謀取非法利益（made illegal profits）。一些領(lǐng)導(dǎo)也會(huì)落入“親情陷阱”（fall into the trap of kinship），有些領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人也會(huì)從親屬經(jīng)營(yíng)活動(dòng)收受賄賂。

為了遏制“后院腐敗”，官員要經(jīng)常提醒自己不為親情所誤，決不能縱容親屬“靠山吃山、靠水吃水”。同時(shí)要加強(qiáng)監(jiān)督（strengthen supervision），對(duì)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)干部配偶、子女及其配偶經(jīng)商辦企業(yè)行為，應(yīng)當(dāng)加以規(guī)范。加強(qiáng)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)干部向黨申報(bào)個(gè)人有關(guān)事項(xiàng)制度（Regulations that government officials should report personal affairs to the Party should be strengthened）。
