“Latchkey wife” is based on the phrase "latchkey kid." “Latchkey wife” refers to a wife who comes home from work to an empty house, left to her own defenses during the evening, while husband works opposite shift.
“掛鑰匙妻子”是基于“掛鑰匙兒童”而產生的新詞?！皰扈€匙妻子”指那些因為丈夫值夜班而不得不下班后獨守空房的妻子。

Because of her time alone, the latchkey wife was free to have complete control over the remote control and the computer with no interruptions!
因為有大量獨處的時間，“掛鑰匙妻子”可以完全自主不受干擾地使用遙控和電腦。
