Eye broccoli指長相普通，沒什么姿色的人。這個詞是eye candy的反義詞，eye candy一詞最早出現于20世紀80年代，指外表很有吸引力的人或者用于吸引大眾注意的特殊效果。
This expression was first used on How I Met Your Mother by Barney to describe Marshall's secretary.
Eye broccoli’這個說法最早出現在美劇《老爸老媽浪漫史》中，Barney用這個詞形容Marshall的秘書。
Barney: So, who's the eye broccoli?
那個丑女是誰啊？
Marshall: Hey, that's Iris, my new assistant. And yes, she is a little plain, but I'm married, so that's good.
喂，那是Iris，人家是我的新助手。她的確是其貌不揚，不過我都結婚了，這樣不是挺好的么。
