With closed eyes, one cannot see anything.
With closed mind?
One who’s accused of having a closed mind is often someone who lacks imagination, obviously.
A scientist with a closed mind? It’s probably someone who cannot see anything beyond their own line of work, who is stubborn, intolerant and inflexible, who lacks common sense and awareness in general and who, say, may in this day and age still insist The Earth is the center of the universe.
And you cannot argue with a closed mind, either.
