My comments:
A pull-up is basketball-speak for a jump shot from a stationary position, i.e. you jump straight up and shoot, releasing the ball while in the air.
Trey, on the other hand, is a colloquialism for a three, i.e. a three pointer, a shot that’s worth 3 points instead of the usual 2 because it’s taken outside the three-point line.
The above paragraph describes the heroics of Zhu Fangyu, who became the all-time scoring leader of the CBA (Chinese Basketball Association) on New Year’s Day, leading Guangdong S.Tigher’s to a 124-96 win over the Jiangsu Dragons.
And the record-breaking shot was, aptly, a three-pointer by the sharpshooter.
