 說(shuō)說(shuō)“接軌”的翻譯 [ 2008-03-11 14:45 ]
有這樣一句話(huà)：隴海線在鄭州與京廣線接軌。不少人翻譯成“The Lianyungang-Lanzhou Railway is contacted to the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway at Zhengzhou.”，其實(shí)句子很簡(jiǎn)單，關(guān)鍵是“接軌”二字，正確的用法應(yīng)該是“be connected to”而不是“be contacted to”。 “接軌”一詞如今在生活中使用得越來(lái)越多，其第一個(gè)意思是“連接鐵路”，可以翻譯為“to link/connect the rails”。例如“The Qinghai-Tibet Railway was finally completed when rails were linked/connected at Lhasa on October 15, 2005.”（2005年10月15日青藏鐵路在拉薩接軌，最終建成。）
“接軌”第二個(gè)意思是“使宇航器在太空相互銜接”，即“對(duì)接”，英語(yǔ)可以翻譯為“to link up with, to dock with/on, to be docked with/on”。例如“The space shuttle has linked up/docked with the international space station,”（這架航天飛機(jī)已經(jīng)與國(guó)際空間站接軌。）
它還有第三個(gè)意思即“使兩種制度或方法相互銜接”，英語(yǔ)可翻譯為"to link up with, to integrate, to be geared to, to switch over to"。例如"The expert talked about how to make our statistical system link up with the international standards."（這位專(zhuān)家談?wù)摰饺绾问刮覀兊慕y(tǒng)計(jì)制度與國(guó)際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)接軌。）
"With its entry into the WTO, China's domestic textile and textile machinery markets have integrated with the world market."（隨著加入世貿(mào)組織，中國(guó)國(guó)內(nèi)的紡織市場(chǎng)和紡織機(jī)械市場(chǎng)已經(jīng)與國(guó)際市場(chǎng)接軌。）
"A growing number of companies have adopted this new quality management system, which is geared to international standards."（越來(lái)越多的公司已經(jīng)采用這個(gè)與國(guó)際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)接軌的新的質(zhì)量管理體系。）
"In order to solve these problems, we should switch over to international practices and accelerate the progress of internationalizayion."（為解決這些問(wèn)題，我們應(yīng)該與國(guó)際慣例接軌，并加速?lài)?guó)際化進(jìn)程。）
