Piers Morgan was fired from his role as Editor of the Daily Mirror in 2004 after publishing images that proved to be fake. The images appeared to show an Iraqi prisoner being abused by British soldiers

The BBC's Nicholas Witchell said that Morgan was unrepentant to the end:
