1. PLAIN OR CHEESE?

Plain meaning without toppings is New York-area vernacular while outside New York such a pizza would be referred to as cheese.
在紐約地區(qū)方言里，用plain(原味)一詞表達(dá)不加餡料的披薩；;紐約之外，說這種披薩則要用cheese(芝士)一詞。

2. PIECE OR SLICE?
2、一塊還是一片？

Speaking of slices, in New York you can say, "I'm getting a slice," and people will know what you're talking about. However, elsewhere "piece of pizza" is preferred, and if you say "slice," you'll need to qualify it with "of pizza."
說到是一片片的披薩(slices)，在紐約你可以說I'm getting a slice(我要片披薩)，大家就知道你什么意思了。但在其它地方，你要說piece of pizza(一片披薩)，你要是說slice(一片)的話，就要說清楚是“披薩”。

3. PIE OR PIZZA?
3、派還是披薩？

While to east coasters, it might feel perfectly natural to say "pie" when referring to a whole pizza, not so for those in other regions. "Pie" was described by west coasters as "pretentious" and "only something someone in a movie would say".
對于東邊沿海地區(qū)人而言，談到整個披薩時說pie(派)再自然不過了，但對于其它地區(qū)卻不是這樣。pie一詞被西部沿海地區(qū)人稱為“裝腔作勢”，而且是“只有電影里的人會這么說”。

4. PIZZA PARLOR, PIZZA SHOP, OR PIZZERIA?

Pizza place was the most popular, followed by pizza parlor and, a close third, pizzeria.
pizza place(披薩店兒)的說法最普遍，接著是pizza parlor(披薩館)，緊隨其后的是pizzeria(披薩餐館)。

5. TIP SAG
5、披薩尖兒

Tip sag refers to when the tip of one's pizza slice droops down.
披薩尖兒指一片披薩頂端餡料掉下的地方。

6. CHICAGO-STYLE
6、芝加哥風(fēng)味

Chicago does have its own thin-crust pizza -- described as crisp and crunchy like a cracker -- which, some say, is even more popular than deep dish or stuffed.
芝加哥風(fēng)味也確實有薄脆款披薩，松脆有嚼勁，有如士力架一般;有些人說甚至要比要比深盤披薩和卷邊芝加哥披薩更受歡迎。

7. PARTY-CUT OR PIE-CUT?

Party-cut means cutting in a grid, while pie-cut means cutting in triangles or wedges.

8. APIZZA

Perhaps less well-known, although no less delicious, is New Haven-style pizza, known in local vernacular as apizza.
紐黑文披薩也許沒那么有名，但味道絕不遜色，方言里稱之為apizza(披薩薄餅)。

9. OLD FORGE PIZZA
9、方形大披薩

The most popular varieties of the Old Forge are the red, a traditional tomato sauce and cheese; the white, hold the sauce; and the black, which has cheese, black pepper, black olives, and anchovies.

All-dressed is Montreal slang for "everything" on it. The all-dressed pizza comes with mushrooms, green peppers, and pepperoni, not literally "everything" but still a lot.
all-dressed(盛裝)一詞是蒙特利爾俚語，意為“應(yīng)有盡有”。盛裝披薩有蘑菇、青椒和意大利辣香腸，也不是“一應(yīng)俱全”，但料也不少。
