The phrase “academic chicken” refers to academic work of poor quality in which you are essentially daring your professor or teacher to give you a bad grade.
“學(xué)術(shù)雞”指的是質(zhì)量很差的學(xué)術(shù)論文，如果交上去你的教授很可能給你個(gè)差評(píng)。
Example:
I just submitted the worst paper I have ever written. It is nothing short of academic chicken.
我剛把自己寫過(guò)的最差的論文交上去了。那篇論文是個(gè)不折不扣的“學(xué)術(shù)雞”。
