In that case, you have to go the extra mile to prove your credibility.

In the Christian Bible (King James Version), there is this similar idea (Matthew 5:41):
And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
Translation:
If they force you to walk one mile, walk two miles with them.
Perhaps they will quit during the extra mile.
Do more than what you’re asked for. Work harder than others. You may not be as talented as others are, but you can always go the extra mile while others stop to take a breather.
In other words, you can always outwork them.
