記者16日從公安部獲悉，公安部要求各級(jí)公安機(jī)關(guān)嚴(yán)查涉黃、涉賭、涉毒等違法犯罪活動(dòng)，堅(jiān)決打擊賣淫嫖娼活動(dòng)的組織者、經(jīng)營(yíng)者及幕后“保護(hù)傘”。此舉也是為了響應(yīng)當(dāng)前中央積極培育社會(huì)主義核心價(jià)值觀的號(hào)召。

China's Ministry of Public Security (MPS) has demanded that the police continue to crack down on prostitution and pornography amid the government's campaign to promote core socialist values.
公安部要求警方繼續(xù)“掃黃”，以配合政府宣傳社會(huì)主義核心價(jià)值觀的活動(dòng)。
“掃黃”就是crack down on prostitution and pornography，即打擊色情業(yè)。公安部表示要severely punish those found guilty of misconduct and malpractice, as well as those who break laws while in charge of enforcement（從嚴(yán)懲處失職瀆職者和執(zhí)法犯法者）。此外，公安部還要求打擊"protective umbrella" of the industry（色情業(yè)保護(hù)傘）。
當(dāng)前中央領(lǐng)導(dǎo)要求積極培育core socialist values（社會(huì)主義核心價(jià)值觀），社會(huì)主義核心價(jià)值觀包括national goals of prosperity, democracy, civility and harmony（富強(qiáng)、民主、文明、和諧的國(guó)家目標(biāo)）; social goals of freedom, equality, justice and the rule of law（自由、平等、公正、法治的社會(huì)目標(biāo)）; and individual values of patriotism, dedication, integrity and friendship（愛國(guó)、敬業(yè)、誠(chéng)信、友善的個(gè)人價(jià)值觀）。
