1月26日,北京市1178個(gè)銷售網(wǎng)點(diǎn)開始銷售馬年煙花爆竹。銷售首日各攤位均未出現(xiàn)大客流。由于今年本市首次實(shí)施重污染天氣禁放措施,不少市民表示,如果遭遇重污染天氣,將不會(huì)燃放煙花爆竹。

Public enthusiasm for fireworks seems to be fizzling out in the face of concerns over air pollution, with many people posting online messages calling for restraint in celebrations during Spring Festival.
出于對(duì)空氣污染的擔(dān)憂,公眾對(duì)煙花爆竹的熱情似乎正在消退。不少人都在網(wǎng)上發(fā)帖,呼吁春節(jié)期間盡量少放煙花爆竹。
Fireworks(煙花)和firecrackers(爆竹)一直是春節(jié)(Spring Festival)期間最受歡迎的節(jié)日用品。據(jù)說,煙花爆竹點(diǎn)燃后發(fā)出的聲響和光亮能夠驅(qū)走野獸“年”,同時(shí)趕走所有厄運(yùn)。春節(jié)期間的傳統(tǒng)習(xí)俗(traditional custom)包括放鞭炮(lighting firecrackers)、貼春聯(lián)(pasting Spring Festival couplets)、互相拜年(exchanging New Year greetings)等等。
不過,由于國內(nèi)大部分城市近兩年都遭遇霧霾(smog),引發(fā)人們對(duì)空氣污染(air pollution)的普遍關(guān)注。今年銷售的煙花爆竹中也首次出現(xiàn)環(huán)保型煙花(environmentally-friendly fireworks),有的還號(hào)稱“無硫(free of sulfur)、無煙(smoke-free)、無紙屑(free of paper scraps)”。北京市首次提出了在發(fā)布空氣重污染橙色(air pollution orange alert)、紅色預(yù)警(air pollution red alert)情況下,全市范圍內(nèi)禁放煙花爆竹。
