“課外活動”知多少

今年秋季開學(xué)以后，全國中小學(xué)生每天都要跳校園集體舞。新編的校園集體舞共分七套，每套舞蹈大約4至5分鐘，將安排在每天課間休息和課外活動時間進(jìn)行。

Seven sets of group dances have been designed to "suit the physical and psychological characteristics of students at different ages". Each dance set lasts 4-5 minutes, and will be performed during class breaks or inextra-curricular time.
報道中的“extra-curricular time”指的就是“課外活動時間”，相應(yīng)的，“extra-curricular activities”則是我們自小都在接觸的“課外活動”。
所謂“課外活動”就是學(xué)校里不包括curricular（正規(guī)課程）在內(nèi)的各項活動，說白了，就是除必修課外再“額外附加”（extra-）的活動。
“額外附加的”，“在…之外的”可用前綴extra-來表達(dá)，英語中類似的合成詞如：extramarital love（婚外戀），extra charge（附加費），extra income（額外收入）。
看下面一個例句：She's involved in many extra-curricular activities, such as music, sport and drama.（她參加了許多課外活動，如音樂、體育運動和戲劇。）
