"Downton Abbey" took many twists and received many accolades in its six-season run, but the show got a new spin recently on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert."

Colbert gave cue cards of a "Downton" scene to Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville and Allen Leech, who play Mary Crawley, Robert Crawley and Tom Branson, respectively, on the ITV show.
飾演瑪麗的米歇爾·道克瑞、飾演羅伯特·克勞利的休·博內(nèi)威和飾演湯姆·布蘭森的艾倫·利奇都在節(jié)目現(xiàn)場，科爾伯特給三人分發(fā)了線索卡。線索卡模擬了《唐頓莊園》（英國獨立電視臺出品）里的一個場景。

"One of the things that I suspect makes the show so alluring and seem in some ways like a fairy tale to us in the United States is just how plummy all your accents are," Colbert told the cast. "So I'd like to try an experiment now, if you don't mind. Can you guys try an American accent for me?"
科爾伯特對他們說道：“有一件事我一直特別好奇，對我們美國人來說，是不是你們的英式發(fā)音讓這部劇變得特別迷人、聽起來像童話故事一般。所以如果你們不介意的話，我想做一個試驗，你們能試著用美音演繹一下這個場景嗎？”

Bonneville chose a gravelly Yankee accent for the Americanized Lord Grantham, while Dockery went for California "Valley girl" Mary and Leech opted for a whiny fashionista version of Tom.
博內(nèi)威用粗啞低沉的北方口音演繹美版格蘭瑟姆伯爵，道克瑞變成了加州的“村姑”瑪麗，而利奇選擇飾演一個煩躁的時髦湯姆。
