中國人民政治協(xié)商會議第十二屆全國委員會全體成員在3月3日的全國政協(xié)十二屆二次會議開幕式上為周六（3月1日）昆明恐怖襲擊事件中的遇難者默哀。

“默哀”（silent tribute）是對逝者表示悼念的一種方式，“為…默哀”可用pay silent tribute to someone或observe a moment of silence for someone表示。在互聯(lián)網(wǎng)普及的今天，不少人還會在網(wǎng)上敬獻(xiàn)虛擬花圈（virtual wreath）對逝者進(jìn)行網(wǎng)上悼念（online tribute）。四川汶川地震和青海玉樹地震后，國家都設(shè)立了全國哀悼日（national mourning day），對遇難者進(jìn)行悼念。
