“遺體”怎么說

話題未免悲傷了，不過，生老病死是人生常理。在向逝者的遺體告別時，想沒想過如何用英語表達“遺體”？請看《中國日報》一段有關(guān)國務(wù)院副總理黃菊逝世的新聞報道：
Vice-Premier Huang Ju'sremainswere cremated in Beijing yesterday.
Huang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, died of illness at 2:03 am on June 2 in Beijing at the age of 69.
報道中的“remains”指的就是“遺體”，“遺體火化”則可表達為“Sb's remains were cremated”。
通常情況下，“remains”表示“剩余物、殘余”，如：The remains of the meal littered the table.（剩飯撒了一桌子。） 此外，“remains”還可用來指“殘骸、遺物”，如：the remains of an aircraft（飛機殘?。?，literal remains（遺稿）。
最后，再順便提一下“向遺體告別”?！案鎰e”一般用動詞詞組“to pay last respects to/to bid farewell to”，但在該短語中，“遺體”一般用人指代，如：
Top leaders, including President and Party General Secretary Hu Jintao, paid their final respects to Huang Ju yesterday at the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery .（昨天，國家主席胡錦濤等中央領(lǐng)導人都前往八寶山革命公墓向黃菊的遺體進行告別。）
或者，“向遺體告別”也可表達為“to bid farewell at the coffin”。
