“雜交水稻”怎么說

“五一”前，在美國科學(xué)院評選出的18位外籍院士中，中國科學(xué)家“世界雜交水稻之父”袁隆平和納米技術(shù)專家白春禮共同膺選此榮。目前，中國已有六位科學(xué)家當(dāng)選為美國科學(xué)院外籍院士。

Yuan, 77, dubbed the "father ofhybrid rice" for his extraordinary contributions toward developing high-yield rice, is a household name in China.
由報道可知，“雜交水稻”相應(yīng)的英文表達(dá)為“hybrid rice”。在生物學(xué)詞匯中，“hybrid”指“adj.&n.雜交（的）、混合（的）”，如：The hybrid from a donkey and a horse is called a mule.（驢和馬交配所生的物種叫騾）；The hybrid basketball team represents two universities.（這支混合籃球隊代表兩個大學(xué)。）
此外，我們常說的“混血兒”也可用“hybrid”來表達(dá)。
