10月24日，經(jīng)國家禽流感參考實驗室確診，安徽省天長市一個村發(fā)生一起感染禽流感的疫情，500多禽只死亡。目前，天長市的禽流感疫情已經(jīng)被撲滅，沒有發(fā)現(xiàn)新的疫點和人的感染。
中國日報網(wǎng)站的報道中有這樣一句話：The epidemic has beenstamped out, and no new outbreak spots have been found," the ministry said in a statement. "Anhui implemented a chain of emergency control measures."
大家一定都很熟悉rein in這個詞組，可用來表示“疫情、病情”等的“控制”或“抑制”。報道中的stamp out 意思是“撲滅”，疫情被“撲滅”，也就是被控制住了。例如：stamp out a fire（將火撲滅）；The government is determined to stamp out the crime.（政府決心消滅犯罪。）
