《麥克白》是莎士比亞四大悲劇之一，故事發(fā)生在戰(zhàn)亂連年的蘇格蘭，三個女巫為麥克白做出命運的預(yù)言，預(yù)言預(yù)示著未來同時改變著未來。在女巫的蠱惑下，野心逐漸吞噬麥克白的良知，因覬覦他人的榮光，麥克白和夫人合謀殺死老國王鄧肯，而后殺死伙伴班柯及其妻兒，最終眾叛親離，并難逃死亡的噩運。

作為四大悲劇中最短的一部，TNT劇院的《麥克白》對莎翁原劇本幾乎沒有刪節(jié)，這種對原作完整的再現(xiàn)也使得演出格外精彩。《麥克白》是莎士比亞戲劇中心理描寫的佳作，全劇彌漫著一種陰郁可怕的氣氛，TNT劇院在忠于原作的基礎(chǔ)上，對《麥克白》進行了很好的演繹，其中最獨特的便是舞美的出色運用。三個女巫在詭異的舞蹈中出場，展現(xiàn)出無性別差異的神秘黑暗力量；三層轉(zhuǎn)臺將閣樓從舞臺背后緩緩轉(zhuǎn)出，閣樓下是戲中人物看戲的觀眾席，借此營造出戲中戲的效果；舞臺上幾尊圓柱的不同變位用來表現(xiàn)城堡和森林，演員的舞蹈動作即構(gòu)建出戰(zhàn)場、森林、宴會等宏大場面。而恐怖電影的音效和手風(fēng)琴、薩克斯伴奏的歌聲渲染了原作中陰鷙可怕的氣氛，觀眾如同在觀看一部費里尼的電影。

女巫的預(yù)言使麥克白內(nèi)心隱秘的權(quán)力欲望浮出水面，而受到老國王鄧肯過火的夸贊和獎賞增強了他的欲望，人物命運總能從自身找到合理的解釋，這是《麥克白》作為悲劇性格代表的一個審美特征。莎士比亞通過對曾經(jīng)屢建奇勛的英雄麥克白變成一個殘忍暴君的過程的描述，批判了野心對良知的侵蝕作用。劇中對麥克白及其夫人內(nèi)心風(fēng)暴的精當(dāng)刻畫，精彩至極，演員們大段的內(nèi)心獨白震撼著觀眾的心靈。TNT劇院對于音樂和舞蹈的運用突出了原劇中對于心理描寫的刻畫，把觀眾真實地帶入戲劇人物的內(nèi)心世界，聆聽他們的掙扎與痛苦。

莎士比亞深諳如何使悲劇與喜劇融合的，事實上他明白，含笑的人通過戲劇的表演可以更加領(lǐng)略悲劇的精髓，同時他也加入了搏斗與歌唱。莎士比亞懂得如何使作品既富娛樂性又不失為一部偉大的著作，這也是為什么他的作品可以一直流傳至今。他不僅僅為貴族和有文化的人創(chuàng)作，更為當(dāng)時的人民大眾編寫作品。

英國TNT劇院

英國TNT劇院于1980年創(chuàng)立，不僅在英國本土聲名顯赫，而且是全球巡演國家和場次最多的英語劇團——幾乎占據(jù)了德國全部英語話劇市場，也是在法國、日本和俄羅斯演出最多的英語劇團。單是上一演出季，劇院就有14部劇作在三大洲上演一千余場。1993年起，英國TNT劇院開始和美國歐洲戲劇集團（American Drama Group Europe）合作制作演出。劇團藝術(shù)總監(jiān)保羅?斯特賓獲獎無數(shù)，包括在慕尼黑雙年展、愛丁堡藝術(shù)節(jié)、法蘭克福藝術(shù)節(jié)的獎項。劇院亦曾和多個國際戲劇節(jié)和著名劇院合作演出，包括雅典音樂廳、圣彼得堡國立喜劇院等，被譽為“首屈一指的巡演劇團”（香港《南華早報》）、“動人肺腑、魅力非凡的劇場”（紐約《鄉(xiāng)村之聲》）。

TNT’s MACBETH

MACBETH was the company’s first Shakespeare production, premiered in 2000.The production has been regularly revived with many of the original cast. It is possibly the most performed international touring version of any Shakespearian play in the last ten years. Performances have been given in over thirty countries worldwide, in cities as diverse as London and Tokyo, Atlanta and Berlin, Oslo and Singapore, Guatemala City and Shanghai. This revival (2013) will tour nationwide in China promoted by Milky Way productions and continue to Thailand Singapore Vietnam and Australia. The production is notable for its highly physical style, its integrated musical score, the quality of the Shakespearean verse speaking and its dynamic interpretation which concentrates on the supernatural elements and above all the witches. The setting is historical.

The production received press acclaim throughout its tour, was attended by large audiences and often re-booked by notable theatres. The success of MACBETH inaugurated a cycle of Shakespeare productions that have given more performances in more countries than any other theatre company since 2000. This is TNT’s seventh tour of China with a Shakespearian production.

TNT & MACBETH

This is a full - blooded production that is not afraid to unleash the power of Shakespeare's dark masterpiece. The witches are identified as the source of the dramatic energy of the play. They are shamans, wild forest spirits and they are neither man nor woman. They inhabit the entire world of the play. Macbeth himself is a warrior, not a thinker, a man of courage whose bravery is corrupted by unthinking ambition. His wife is also a type of witch, this is a Lady Macbeth who calls down the spirits to “unsex her here” but is possessed and destroyed by the demons she thought to command. In contrast the Porter scene is a comic and acrobatic dance that is (unusually) genuinely funny. The production includes an atmospheric and dense musical score by composer Paul Flush, powerful choreography from Eric Tessier and striking visual imagery. The production is directed by Paul Stebbings, founder of TNT theatre and multi-award winner.

TNT Theatre

TNT theatre was founded in 1980 in Britain and since has established itself as one of the most popular international touring theatre companies in the world. Last season alone the company produced seven productions in almost thirty countries worldwide, ranging from Shakespeare classics such as ROMEO & JULIET to their own new play HITLER KILLED MY CANARY, from works by contemporary artists such as Paul Auster’s MOON PALACE to the classic seasonal show: Dickens’ CHRISTMAS CAROL. Since 1993 the company has been in collaboration with the American Drama Group Europe. The artistic director of TNT is Paul Stebbings, whose work has won many awards at, for example, the Munich Biennale, the Edinburgh Festival, the Tehran Festival and from the government of Singapore. Other notable festivals in which the company has participated are the International Off-Broadway Festival in New York, the Tokyo International Theatre festival and the summer festival of the British National Theatre. TNT has also collaborated on co-productions with major venues such as the Athens Concert Hall and the St Petersburg State Comedy Theatre.
