People's Daily conducted a survey on the Internet about how to strictly manage officials and received more than 4,000 valid responses.
近日，《人民日?qǐng)?bào)》在網(wǎng)上進(jìn)行了一項(xiàng)關(guān)于如何進(jìn)行從嚴(yán)治吏的調(diào)查，收到讀者4000多份有效回復(fù)。

The results show that more than half of the respondents believe the most important thing the authorities should address is the working style of government officials.
調(diào)查結(jié)果顯示，超半數(shù)受訪者認(rèn)為，從嚴(yán)治吏，最應(yīng)治理干部“作風(fēng)不正”。

調(diào)查還顯示，近半受訪者認(rèn)為，某些官員腐敗(corrupt)，對(duì)工作不負(fù)責(zé)任(irresponsible in their work)。而關(guān)于如何“治吏”(manage the officials)的問題，約2/3的受訪者認(rèn)為，政府應(yīng)從“從嚴(yán)監(jiān)督”(strengthen their supervision)和“從嚴(yán)選拔”(be stricter in selecting officials)兩個(gè)層面入手。而超1/3受訪者要求政府建立更好的問責(zé)機(jī)制(a better accountability system)。

About two-thirds of the interviewees think "listening to the public" and "guaranteeing the transparent and open exercising of power" would be conducive to managing officials strictly.
約2/3受訪者認(rèn)為“傾聽群眾聲音”和“權(quán)力運(yùn)行公開、透明”有利于從嚴(yán)治吏。
