美國一份調(diào)查顯示,男性在工作場所遭遇性騷擾的案例再創(chuàng)新高。根據(jù)EEOC的統(tǒng)計,2006年度,男性投訴遭性騷擾的比例占這類總投訴案件的15.4%,其中騷擾者通常都是男性。

Newly released data from the EEOC showed that 15.4 percent of the 12,025
charges of sexual harassment in fiscal year 2006 were filed by men, as opposed
to 11.6 percent a decade earlier.
報道中的“sexual harassment”就是“性騷擾”。注意啦,根據(jù)“韋氏字典”,“sexual harassment”指的是“uninvited
and unwelcome verbal or physical conduct directed at a person because of his or
her sex”(對男性或女性實施不受歡迎的性行為,包括身體接觸或言語挑逗)。由此,如新聞所示,“性騷擾”的受害者不僅僅是女性,同時也包括男性。
在用法上,如果想強調(diào)某一案例是“男性對男性實施性騷擾”,可表達為“male-on-male sexual
harassment”。反之,“性騷擾”可依據(jù)具體情況表達為“(female-on-female/male-on-female/female-on-male)
sexual harassment”或者“sexual harassment against male/female”。
此外,“性騷擾”若做動詞,常用被動語態(tài)“to be sexually harassed”。
看下面一個例句:There have been some cases of sexual harassment against women in this
office.(這個辦公室里曾發(fā)生過女性遭遇性騷擾的案例。)
