 法國“毀容”女教師請求安樂死 [ 2008-03-19 15:30 ]
近日，因患嗅神經(jīng)母細胞瘤而面容大改的法國女教師請求法院允許醫(yī)生為其實施安樂死為合法。在請求被拒之后，她又懇請總統(tǒng)薩科齊干預(yù)并準允此事。

—— A French court on Monday rejected a request from a 52-year-old severely disfigured former schoolteacher for the right to die, in a case that has stirred much emotion in France, a judicial source said.
法國法院駁回被毀容女士的安樂死請求
—— 據(jù)司法界人士透露，法國一家法院于本周一駁回了嚴重毀容的52歲教師提出的獲取死亡權(quán)利的要求，此案曾一度在法國引起廣泛關(guān)注。
該報道中，euthanasia就是“安樂死”的意思；disfigured是形容詞，having the appearance spoiled（使外貌被損毀），也就是被損毀的，毀容的意思。disfigure為其動詞形式，意為“損毀、毀容”。
例如：This landscape is disfigured by a power station. 風景被發(fā)電廠破壞了。
與disfigure意思相近的詞有deface(損傷…的外觀)和blemish(污點、缺點； 污損、損害)。
例如：Don't deface library books.
不要污損圖書館的書籍。
These wine glasses were sold at half price because of blemishes in the jade.
