從V.T.校園槍擊案想到的

美國史上最嚴(yán)重的校園槍擊案引起了全世界的震驚，連一向不對公眾新聞發(fā)言表態(tài)的英國伊麗莎白女王二世也發(fā)表了公開講話。讓我們來第一時間看看美國的幾個主要官方媒體的報道，請注意幾個重要描述。

注：loner——獨來獨往的人
Authorities say they initially believed the dorm shooting was an "isolated incident" and were still investigating it when theslaughteroccurred at Norris Hall.
注：slaughter——屠殺
美國的媒體普遍把這次校園槍擊事件形容為“屠殺”。當(dāng)然，句中的slaughter特指“發(fā)生在諾里斯教學(xué)大樓里的亂槍掃射”（案發(fā)者在宿舍樓前擊斃兩人后，又趕往工程系教學(xué)樓行兇）。此外，“massacre”也常用來形容“屠殺”。
"He seemed verythoroughabout it, getting almost everyone down, I pretended to be dead." 注：thorough的一個意思是“徹底的”，而在這里表示“縝密、周密”。
