High school students in Beijing are far morepromiscuousthan their teachers or parents think, according to a survey conducted in a city district.
More than half of those polled said there was nothing wrong with aone-night stand; and 6.2 percent admitted they already had a sexual encounter, according to the results released recently.
The average age when they first had sex was about 15, said the survey of 2,300 high school students in Xuanwu District . According to a 2005 survey by Durex, the condom maker, the global average age was 17.3.
The findings surprised even sex educators.
"The new generation is open-minded about sex, indeed we can only conclude that it is a result of a fast-changing society," Zhang Meimei, professor of education at Capital Normal University said.
Of the 1,300 girls asked if they would agree if their boyfriends sought sex, only six gave a definite "no".
The typical answer: "As long as he loves me, it's OK."
About 200 boys and girls said they were willing to have a one-night stand if an opportunity arose.
About 30 percent believed that teen sex is fine as long as it is consensual, and 55 percent said it depends on how much the two love each other.
Contrasting with the openness about sex is a lack of sexual knowledge.
More than 40 per cent of those who had sex didn't use contraceptives for the first time.
Teenage pregnancies have been on the rise in recent years; and under-age girls account for about a quarter of the 1.5 million abortions on the mainland each year.

一項(xiàng)在北京某區(qū)所做的調(diào)查顯示，北京的中學(xué)生遠(yuǎn)比他們的老師和家長(zhǎng)所想象的“開放”。
據(jù)這項(xiàng)于近日公布的調(diào)查結(jié)果，一半以上的受訪學(xué)生認(rèn)為“一夜情”沒什么錯(cuò)，6.2%的人承認(rèn)他們有過性行為。
這項(xiàng)由宣武區(qū)共2300名中學(xué)生參加的調(diào)查顯示，學(xué)生發(fā)生初次性行為的平均年齡為15歲。據(jù)安全套制造商杜蕾絲公司2005年的一項(xiàng)調(diào)查，全球初次性行為的平均年齡為17.3歲。
這一調(diào)查結(jié)果甚至讓性教育者們大吃一驚。
首都師范大學(xué)的張梅梅教授說：“現(xiàn)在孩子的性觀念很開放，我們只能說這是社會(huì)迅速發(fā)展的結(jié)果?！?/font>
在問及是否會(huì)同意男友提出的性要求時(shí)，受訪的1300名女生中只有6人明確表示“不會(huì)”。
最典型的回答是：“只要他愛我就行”。
大約200名左右的男生和女生說，如果有機(jī)會(huì)，來個(gè)一夜情也無妨。
約30%的受訪學(xué)生認(rèn)為，至于性關(guān)系，只要雙方自愿就可以，55%的人認(rèn)為這得看兩人相愛的程度。
與開放的性觀念形成鮮明對(duì)比的是，學(xué)生們所掌握的性知識(shí)非常貧乏。
在發(fā)生過性行為的學(xué)生中，40%以上的人在初次性行為時(shí)沒有采取避孕措施。
近年來，青少年早孕的發(fā)生率不斷增長(zhǎng)。大陸地區(qū)每年有1500萬的墮胎案例，其中有四分之一是未達(dá)到法定生育年齡的女孩。
