俄羅斯總統(tǒng)普京14日會(huì)晤日本前首相森喜郎時(shí)表示，他計(jì)劃在今年11月APEC峰會(huì)前后訪問(wèn)日本，與日本商討“北方四島”領(lǐng)土爭(zhēng)端問(wèn)題。外電報(bào)道如下：Russian President Vladimir Putin has told a former Japanese prime minister he wants to visit Japan in November for talks on a formal treaty to end a land dispute from World War II, reports said.
The neighbouring countries have been debating a date for the visit for months after Putin agreed to come here this year to mark the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between them.
Putin told former Japanese prime minister Yoshiro Mori in Saint Petersburg Tuesday that he wanted the visit to be around the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation ( APEC) forum summit in South Korea on November 18-19, major Japanese media reported.
Summit作為名詞表示“山峰；頂峰；絕頂”，例如：a mountain summit（山頂）；上文中體現(xiàn)是summit的另外一個(gè)含義，即“峰會(huì)，首腦會(huì)議”。此外，summit作為形容詞還有“政府首腦級(jí)的, 最高級(jí)的”之意，例如：a summit conference（最高級(jí)會(huì)議）。
據(jù)悉，俄日領(lǐng)土爭(zhēng)端是指齒舞、色丹、國(guó)后和澤捉這北方四島（俄羅斯稱(chēng)為南千島群島）的歸屬之爭(zhēng)。這些島嶼原是日本領(lǐng)土，二戰(zhàn)時(shí)被原蘇聯(lián)軍隊(duì)占領(lǐng)，至今仍在俄羅斯的管轄之下。由于俄日在四島的歸屬問(wèn)題上互不讓步，致使作為兩國(guó)關(guān)系基礎(chǔ)的和平條約迄今未能簽署。
