墨西哥科利馬火山最近幾周來活動愈來愈頻繁，當?shù)卣畵奈磥頂?shù)日內可能出現(xiàn)更猛烈的噴發(fā)，強度可達到1913年的那次大爆發(fā)。當年科利馬火山噴發(fā)出的灼熱物質一直落到9公里以外，熔巖和石塊將附近名為薄荷的小村部分掩埋。目前當?shù)卣验_始對火山附近的居民進行疏散。外電報道如下：The Volcano of Fire has rumbled back to life with its strongest eruptions in 20 years, spewing lava and ash clouds that had some residents who remained in their homes Wednesday casting nervous glances at the peak.
The volcano, which straddles the line between Colima and Jalisco states 430 miles west of Mexico City, has had six spectacular eruptions in the past three weeks.
The largest, late Monday, shot glowing lava three miles above the crater of the 12,533-foot volcano and showered ash over the nearby city of Colima.
