項目簡介

受大不列顛及北愛爾蘭聯(lián)合王國商業(yè)、創(chuàng)新和技能部與中華人民共和國教育部委托，英國大使館文化教育處和中國國家留學(xué)基金管理委員會共同設(shè)立博士生短期科研訪學(xué)項目，以支持中英兩國高等教育機構(gòu)之間的博士生交流。

本項目將資助中國或英國博士研究生前往英國或中國開展為期3-12個月的學(xué)習(xí)或訪問。在博士研究生派出期間，強烈建議其導(dǎo)師對接收機構(gòu)開展一次短期訪問，這將便于導(dǎo)師與對方國家的同行交流認識，也有助于他們了解學(xué)生所處的不同研究背景和遇到的問題。

本項目將優(yōu)先支持以下科學(xué)研究領(lǐng)域的博士研究生交流:

? 健康/生命科學(xué)（例如：艾滋病病毒/艾滋病、瘧疾、肺結(jié)核、被忽視的熱帶病、兒童死亡率、孕產(chǎn)婦健康）

? 環(huán)境技術(shù)（例如：氣候變化、綠色技術(shù)、可持續(xù)發(fā)展、生態(tài)系統(tǒng)服務(wù)、資源短缺問題）

? 食品和水安全

? 能源

? 城鎮(zhèn)化

? 有利于推動經(jīng)濟發(fā)展，提高民眾福祉的教育和創(chuàng)意產(chǎn)業(yè)

須提醒申請人注意的是，申請人需自行與計劃前行的接收機構(gòu)確認訪學(xué)安排。所有訪學(xué)必須在2017年12月31日之前完成。

申請人資格

中英雙方申請人均須為博士學(xué)位在讀學(xué)生。中方申請人必須來自能夠授予博士學(xué)位的單位，中方接收院校必須具備接收國際學(xué)生的資格。英方申請人必須來自在以上支持領(lǐng)域擁有一流研究成果的高等教育機構(gòu)。中方申請人必須符合中國國家留學(xué)基金管理委員會規(guī)定的申請條件，并應(yīng)具備良好的英語水平。

PhD Placements and Supervisor Mobility Grants China-UK

About this opportunity

The UK-China Joint Research and Innovation Partnership Fund (known in the UK as the Newton Fund) PhD placement programme is delivered by the British Council China and the China Scholarship Council on behalf of the UK’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and China’s Ministry of Education.

This programme is a sponsorship opportunity for UK and Chinese PhD students and their supervisors to spend a period of study of three to 12 months (for PhD students) and up to three months (for supervisors) at higher education institutions in China or the UK. The focus is on research areas that reflect the common interests and demands of both countries, including:

? health and life sciences

? food and water security

? environmental technologies

? energy

? urbanisation

? education and creative economy for economic development and social welfare

Please note, applicants must find a host institution in their target country and placements must start between January and December 2017.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to UK and Chinese nationals who are currently enrolled, as PhD students, at accredited higher education institutions or research institutions in the UK or China respectively. UK students studying for their PhDs at institutions in China and Chinese students studying for their PhDs at institutions in the UK are not eligible.

UK PhD applicants should be from UK institutions with strong research record in the six areas of focus (see the first section on this page). UK applicants should be UK passport holders. Candidates of other nationalities must hold passports from countries that have diplomatic relations with China.

Host universities in China must be eligible to admit international students.

The application process closes at 12:00 pm GMT on 20 September 2016.
