Negotiations on the China-United States Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) will make up most of the discussions during President Xi Jinping's forthcoming state visit to the US, the Ministry of Commerce said on Wednesday.
商務(wù)部16日表示，習(xí)近平主席即將對(duì)美國進(jìn)行國事訪問，中美雙邊投資協(xié)定談判將成為此行的重要議題。

"Xi's upcoming state visit to the US is a matter of primary importance for Sino-US relations, and will exert a profound influence on the bilateral relationship and economic cooperation," said Shen Danyang, the ministry spokesman.
商務(wù)部發(fā)言人沈丹陽表示，習(xí)近平主席即將對(duì)美國進(jìn)行的國事訪問，是今年中美雙邊關(guān)系中的頭等大事，將對(duì)兩國關(guān)系和雙邊經(jīng)貿(mào)關(guān)系產(chǎn)生深遠(yuǎn)影響。

沈丹陽表示，中方希望借此次訪問契機(jī)(opportunities)，進(jìn)一步發(fā)揮經(jīng)貿(mào)合作對(duì)雙邊關(guān)系壓艙石和推進(jìn)器(anchor and propeller of China-US relations)的作用，豐富中美新型大國關(guān)系的經(jīng)貿(mào)內(nèi)涵，促進(jìn)雙邊經(jīng)貿(mào)合作邁向新臺(tái)階(reaching a new high)。

Shen said both China and the US are going through intense negotiations over economic and trade results to be achieved during Xi's visit, which is set for Sept 22-25, and are aiming for a productive economic and trade cooperation.
沈丹陽說，為此，雙方工作團(tuán)隊(duì)正在就習(xí)主席訪美經(jīng)貿(mào)成果進(jìn)行密集磋商，希望最終拿出一個(gè)成果豐碩的清單。

中美投資協(xié)定談判啟動(dòng)于2008年，迄今已經(jīng)進(jìn)行了19輪談判(negotiations)。今年6月第七次中美戰(zhàn)略與經(jīng)濟(jì)對(duì)話(US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue)會(huì)期間，雙方同意將繼續(xù)積極推動(dòng)中美投資協(xié)定談判，并首次交換了負(fù)面清單(negative list)。雙方還同意今年9月再次交換出價(jià)。
