Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday called to strengthen China's national defense and the combativeness of its armed forces, by greater civil-military integration.

國家主席習近平周四（3月12日）強調(diào)，深入實施軍民融合，以加強國防和武裝部隊的戰(zhàn)斗力。

“軍民融合”可以用civil-military integration 表示，國家主席習近平在出席十二屆全國人大三次會議解放軍代表團全體會議（ a plenary meeting of the People's Liberation Army delegation ）時指出，全軍應(yīng)貫徹執(zhí)行軍民融合發(fā)展戰(zhàn)略（the development strategy of civil-military integration），以開創(chuàng)軍隊能力建設(shè)新局面（break new grounds in the PLA's capability building）。

習近平指出，全軍著力開展實戰(zhàn)化軍事訓練（carry out real combat-like military trainings），大力推進黨風廉政建設(shè)（improve the Party's work style）和反腐敗斗爭，貫徹強軍目標取得了新的重大進展。

習近平同時指出因為實施軍民融合，國家的經(jīng)濟與國防實力得到同步增長（synchronize development in its economic and national defense capabilities）。同時要看到，我國軍民融合發(fā)展還處于初步階段（at a preliminary phase），還存在思想觀念跟不上、頂層統(tǒng)籌統(tǒng)管體制缺乏（ lack of top-level coordination）、工作執(zhí)行力度不夠（lax implementation）等問題，要使兩者協(xié)調(diào)發(fā)展、平衡發(fā)展、兼容發(fā)展（achieve coordinated, balanced and compatible development）。
