The Qatar women's basketball team forfeited a match at the Asian Games on Wednesday after being refused permission to wear the Islamic headscarf.

周三，因裁判不允許她們戴頭巾比賽，卡塔爾女籃退出了比賽。

卡塔爾女籃“退賽”用forfeit a match表示，這里的forfeit指give it up willingly, especially so that you can achieve something else（為了獲得其他東西而主動放棄某事），卡塔爾女籃放棄比賽是為了向國際籃聯(lián)傳遞信息，希望未來國際籃聯(lián)能夠改變相關(guān)的比賽著裝規(guī)定。Forfeit更常見的意思是“沒收、被剝奪”，比如，He was ordered to forfeit more than ￡1.5m in profits（他被勒令上繳150多萬英鎊的利潤）。

如果只是單純因?yàn)閭€(gè)人原因或不可抗力退出比賽則可以用abandon/pull out of/withdraw from the game表示，比如，Lee Chong Wei abandoned his game in the decider due to injury（李宗偉在決勝局因傷退賽）。
