畢業(yè)求職的簡歷上，那些證書、成績單等等都是對專業(yè)技能的認證，屬于“硬技能”；而在“自我評價”那一欄寫下的“性格外向、勤勞肯干”等語句就屬于對“軟技能”的描述了。

Soft skills is a sociological term relating to a person's "EQ" (Emotional Intelligence Quotient), the cluster of personality traits, social graces, communication, language, personal habits, friendliness, and optimism that characterize relationships with other people. Soft skills complement hard skills (part of a person's IQ), which are the occupational requirements of a job and many other activities.

“軟技能”是一個社會學術語，指一個人的情商（EQ）、個性特征、社交禮儀、溝通能力、個人習慣、友好程度、以及處理人際關系的樂觀態(tài)度?！败浖寄堋笔菍Α坝布寄堋钡难a充，后者是就業(yè)和其它活動中必須具備的一項技能。

Soft skills are personal attributes that enhance an individual's interactions, job performance and career prospects. Unlike hard skills, which are about a person's skill set and ability to perform a certain type of task or activity, soft skills relate to a person's ability to interact effectively with coworkers and customers and are broadly applicable both in and outside the workplace. It has been suggested that in a number of professions soft skills may be more important over the long term than occupational skills.

“軟技能”是能夠對個人的社交、職業(yè)表現(xiàn)以及事業(yè)前景有促進作用的個人素質。“硬技能”多與一個人完成某項任務的專業(yè)技能和能力相關，而“軟技能”則多指一個人與同事和客戶有效溝通的能力，在職場內(nèi)外都有廣泛的用武之地。有人認為，從長遠來看，“軟技能”在一些職業(yè)領域的重要性要高于“硬技能”。
