 在一個旁觀者看來，獲得自由、走出監(jiān)獄應該是每個囚犯的愿望。然而當Michael問Haywire 想不想離開監(jiān)獄時，Haywire
卻表示了猶豫和疑惑：Halfway houses, psych visits, meds, checking in with a P.O., urine
tests, keeping a job... No. Why you ask?
在他看來，監(jiān)獄外的一切都讓他感到煩躁，他不想過那種生活。Haywire已經(jīng)開始被制度化了，但是他仍然不愿意在監(jiān)獄里被人擺布。當獄警命令他吃藥的時候，他吃下了藥片，但在獄警走后他又把藥吐了出來，他不想被這種隱形的手銬束縛。最后，他也終于越獄了。
