Heritage: urine-boiled eggs
童子尿煮蛋成文化遺產(chǎn)
In Dongyang, Zhejiang, people like to boil duck eggs in the urine of little boys. The booths selling such eggs are available everywhere in local streets in spring, giving the air a "special" smell - named "the taste of spring" by locals. It's said that those who eat such eggs "won't doze off in spring or get sunstroke in summer". The urine-boiled eggs have already been listed as part of the cultural heritage of the city, the Taiwan United Daily News reported. (See photo)
