Italian architects have developed new "transparent cement", which allows daylight to flood into a room and makes the walls look like giant windows, the Daily Mail of London reported. It can therefore save electricity that would otherwise be required for daytime lighting. So far, it has been used only for one building - the Italian pavilion at last year's Expo in Shanghai.
