“召回制度” 關(guān)注食品安全

本周二，中國國家食品藥品監(jiān)管局原局長鄭筱萸因受賄、玩忽職守被判處死刑。在國民大快人心之際，食品、藥物安全問題再敲警鐘。為此，政府有望在今年年底建立不安全食品召回制度。

Seeking to address broadening concerns over food, the government also announced plans for its firstrecall system for unsafe products.
“不安全食品召回制度”相應(yīng)的英文表達(dá)為“recall system for unsafe products”，或者，也可寫作“Product Recall”。
產(chǎn)品質(zhì)量不合格，廠家若要收回進(jìn)行再處理，可用單詞“recall”，其相應(yīng)的英文釋義是：“A request by the manufacturer of a product that has been identified as defective to return it”（制造商收回問題產(chǎn)品）?？蠢洌篢he car was recalled for possible safety defects.（汽車因可能存在的安全缺陷被召。）
另外，recall除了常用義“回憶、回想”，也可用來形容“取消（命令）”、“召回（大使）”，如：recall a decision（撤銷裁定）；recall sb. from abroad（把某人從國外召回）。
此外，鄭的“玩忽職守”可表達(dá)為“dereliction of duty”。
