The Community Shield is England’s traditional curtain raiser 開幕比賽 between the last season’s winners of the Premier League and the FA Cup 足總杯.
Though it isn’t seen as a major trophy 大賽, winning the Community Shield is likely to 可能會 give new Chelsea boss Carlos Ancelotti a psychological advantage 心理優(yōu)勢 for the season to come.
His side triumphed 4-1 on penalties 點球決勝 after the game finished all square 平分 at 2-2 at the end of normal time.
Manchester United had taken the lead 領(lǐng)先 in impressive style when winger 邊鋒 Nani scored from long range after only 10 minutes.
But Chelsea showed their usual grit and determination 勇氣和信念 to fight back and score twice through Ricardo Carvalho and Frank Lampard.
In the dying seconds 最后幾秒內(nèi), United’s striker Wayne Rooney brought the teams level again with a fine finish past Chelsea keeper 守門員 Petr Cech.
It was Chelsea who kept their nerve 保持鎮(zhèn)定 in the resulting penalty shoot-out 點球決勝 however, scoring four times while Manchester United could only manage a single goal.
So, first blood 初步領(lǐng)先 to Carlos Ancelotti over Man United who he thinks will be his “most important opponent 對手” this season.
"We found it difficult, but we were better in the second half when we put more strength on the pitch. In the end, we deserved to win 有資格贏得比賽," Ancelotti said.

?We should really have put the game to bed.
Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United manager |
Ferguson thought that Man United should have capitalised 利用他們的優(yōu)勢 on their early lead and several missed opportunities.
"We should really have put the game to bed," he said. When he says “put the game to bed”, he means that they should have made sure they won the game by taking advantage of their early dominance 優(yōu)勢 in the game and scoring more goals.
Characteristically 一如既往, Ferguson also complained about one of the referee’s 裁判的 decisions which he thought worked against him 對(曼聯(lián))不利. His gripe 牢騷、痛訴 was about the referee not awarding Manchester United a free kick 任意球 just before Chelsea scored their second goal.
For Chelsea’s Frank Lampard the result was a perfect start to the season. "This is sweet," Lampard said.
"It feels nice to make a winning start to the season. After that last goal we could have been on a downer, but we didn't let our heads drop."
When he says they didn’t let their heads drop, he means the Chelsea players didn’t lose enthusiasm 熱情 and start to play negatively after Manchester United scored their late second goal.
