Hiddink (left) and Lampard show Chelsea the way to success |
Chelsea beat Everton 2-1 on Saturday to win the FA Cup and lift their first silverware 獎杯 for two years.
But they got off to a terrible start 糟糕的開始 when Everton opened the scoring after only 25 seconds. The goal, a terrific 棒極了strike from Louis Saha, was the fastest ever in an FA Cup final.
Chelsea were rattled 慌亂 by the early goal, but they overcame their nerves 緊張的情緒 and equalised 打平了 through a header from Didier Drogba, before Frank Lampard scored the winner in the second half.
The game was a fitting farewell 恰到好處的歡送禮儀 for Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink.
The Dutchman, who has been at the helm 掌管 of the London club for four months as interim manager 臨時教練, is now going to resume 重續(xù) his role as the national coach of Russia.
He ranks 排名 winning the FA Cup as one of the highest achievements in his career, calling it "something you truly cannot believe".
"We had some wonderful performances in the Premier League and also in the Champions League and this is the highlight 最精彩的時刻, to win the FA Cup," said Hiddink.
Hiddink will be replaced by AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti, who will become Chelsea's fourth manager in 21 months following Jose Mourinho, Avram Grant, Luiz Felipe Scolari and Guus Hiddink.
Over at Everton, their manager David Moyes has been around slightly longer, since 2002. Reflecting after the game, he said:
"We've come so far this season but when it comes to the real crunch and when you need that bit of quality we just didn't have it. We've had it this season but not today unfortunately.
When it comes to the crunch
We've come so far this season but when it comes to the real crunch and when you need that bit of quality we just didn't have it. We've had it this season but not today unfortunately.

"But we can all be proud of our achievements, we can all be immensely proud."
The phrase when it comes to the crunch is used when talking about a situation where you have to make a crucial decision or give an important performance.
Everton midfielder Tim Cahill was also saddened 遺憾,傷感 by the result.
I'm just gutted because this was a chance to win some silverware.

"I'm just gutted because this was a chance to win some silverware."
To be gutted is a slang term which means to be very disappointed and annoyed about something.
"We lose as a team and win as a team. We're going to hold our heads up high and take this on the chin," added Cahill.
By saying "we're going to hold our heads up high", he means Everton have to stay positive and confident.
The phrase to take something on the chin means to accept an uncomfortable defeat in a mature way, without worrying too much about it.
We lose as team and win as a team. We're going to hold our heads up high and take this on the chin.

Whatever next season brings, Guus Hiddink can look back on his brief stay at Chelsea and its fairytale finish 童話般的完美結(jié)局.
