Do you usually say, “I’m going to the toilet” in English?
你是否經(jīng)常用英文說:”I’m going to the toilet”?
Although saying this can be correct in some contexts, it can be overly direct or even rude–especially in American English.
盡管在有些語境中這樣說是正確的,但是這種說法在美式英文中就顯得過于直接,甚至是有點(diǎn)粗魯了。
It’s not necessary to restrict yourself to just this literal phrase when in English we have so many varieties of expressing this phrase. Today, I’m going to teach you everything from the most polite ways to say this, to the crass [rude] expressions that you’ll only want to say around the closest of friends.

22 Expressions with “Toilet” in English
The following toilet related vocabulary and expressions are sorted from the most polite, to the rudest and most vulgar.
下面這些關(guān)于廁所的詞匯和表達(dá)方法根據(jù)其禮貌和粗俗程度分類。
Formal正式體
The following are appropriate in any situation:
下面是任何場合都恰當(dāng)?shù)挠梅ǎ?/p>
Bathroom
–Example: I’m gonna [going to] go to the bathroom.
例子:我要上衛(wèi)生間。
Restroom
–Example: Where is the restroom?
例子:洗手間在哪兒?
Little boy’s/girl’s room
–Example: I’ll be right back, I need to use the little girl’s room.
例子:我馬上回來,我要用下洗手間。
Powder my nose
–Example: Excuse me, I need to powder my nose.
例子:不好意思,我要去趟盥洗室。
Familiar熟人之間用法
The following are appropriate with family or friends:
下面為跟朋友或家人在一起時(shí)用法:
Pee
-Example: Where’ the bathroom? I need to pee.
例子:洗手間在哪?我想小便。
Tinkle (mostly used by older women)(用于年齡大的婦女)
-Example: I drank too much water! I have to go tinkle.
例子:我水喝太多了!我得去小個(gè)便。
Go (when used in context)(根據(jù)語境)
-Example: Where’s the bathroom, I really have to go!
例子:廁所在哪,我得上趟廁所。
Potty (Generally used by children)(通常用于兒童)
-Example (noun): Where’s the potty?
例子:便壺在哪?
-Example (verb): Mama, I have to potty.
例子:媽媽,我要尿尿。
Take a #1/#2 (number 1 refers to peeing, number 2 to pooping)
1號表示小便,2號表示大便。
-Example: Person 1 – I have to go to the bathroom.
例子:人物1-我得上趟廁所。
Person 2 – Number 1 or number 2?
人物2-大號、小號?
My bladder is bursting (when you really have to go)(真的憋不住時(shí)用)
-Example: Stop the car! My bladder is bursting.
例子:停車!我憋不住了。
Rude粗魯
The following are appropriate only with friends
下面的用法僅限朋友間使用
John
–Example: Where’s the John? I have to take a number 2.
例子:廁所在哪?我要拉屎。
Loo (UK – can be familiar or rude, depending on where you are)(英式用法-可用于熟人或粗魯用法時(shí),取決于在哪)
–Example: I’ll be right back, I’m gonna go to the loo.
例子:我馬上回來,我要上趟廁所。
Crapper
–Example: Hey man, where’s the crapper?
例子:嘿,老兄,廁所在哪?
Take a leak
–Example: He has to take a leak, where’s your bathroom?
例子:他要去解手(噓噓),廁所在哪?
Pee oneself (when you really have to go)尿褲子(憋不住的時(shí)候使用)
Example: I’m about to pee myself, let’s go home.
我快要尿褲子了,咱們回家吧。
Can
Example: Do you mind telling me where’s the can?
例子:不介意告訴我馬桶在哪吧?
Vulgar粗俗
The following should only be used with close friends, if ever. Also remember that it is more common for men to use these expressions than women.
可以的話,下面這些只能對最最親密的朋友說。記住一般男性比女性更常使用這些表達(dá)。
Shit
Example: Man, where’s the can, I need to go shit.
例子:喂,廁所在哪,我要去拉屎。
Dump
Example: He went to take a dump.
例子:他去拉屎了。
Shitter
Example: I’ve gotta [got to] use your shitter.
例子:我要用下你馬桶。
Piss
Example: We drank a lot of beer and now we all have to piss.
例子:我們酒喝多了,現(xiàn)在要去小便。
Pisser
Example: Mind if I use your pisser?
例子:不介意我用下你廁所吧?
Piss oneself (same as pee oneself, but cruder)尿褲子(和pee oneself一樣,但更粗俗一點(diǎn))
In Conclusion.Having a rich vocabulary is important, especially if you want to sound like a native. However, it’s perhaps even more important to know when to appropriately use these phrases, and not to sound rude in a second language.
總之,豐富詞匯量很重要,尤其是你想要將英語說得和母語一樣流利時(shí)。但是知道如何正確使用這些詞匯短語并且聽起來不粗魯更重要。
