這是一個(gè)固定表達(dá)，意思是“何況，更不要說……” 相當(dāng)于let alone，例如：
1) I didn't even see your
brother, much less speak to him. 我連見都沒見過你弟弟，更別說跟他說話了。
2) I dare not speak to
him, much less express my feelings to him. 我連話都不敢跟他說，更別說是表達(dá)感情了。
4. look beyond the paint
此句的意思是：別拘泥于圖像本身。
很明顯，這個(gè)句子中的關(guān)鍵詞是beyond，在這里提出來是希望大家注意這個(gè)單詞的意思在翻譯的時(shí)候非常靈活，在本句里取的就是這個(gè)單詞的基本詞義：超越。我們可以看看一些其它的例子：

1. Soutine
Chaim Soutine，
