中國“免除”受援國“債務(wù)”

中國對(duì)外援助始于1950年。在過去的幾十年，中國政府向160多個(gè)國家提供了援助。同時(shí)，中國已累計(jì)免除49個(gè)重債窮國和最不發(fā)達(dá)國家的374筆對(duì)華到期債務(wù)。那么，“免除債務(wù)”怎么說呢？

China waived 374 debts of 49 developing countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the South Pacific by the end of last year, an official with the Ministry of Commerce's foreign aid department has said.
據(jù)商務(wù)部外援司介紹，截至到去年年底，中國已累計(jì)免除非洲、亞洲、加勒比和南太地區(qū)的49個(gè)發(fā)展中國家的374筆對(duì)華到期債務(wù)。
這里，免除債務(wù)表達(dá)為“waive debts”；“waive”表示免除或自愿放棄一項(xiàng)主張/權(quán)利；
例如： If the result proves you are right, I’ll persuade them to waive the claim.
如結(jié)果證明您是對(duì)的，我將說服他們放棄索賠。
