Patrick Chan, Hong Kong

Some British people might say "I done that!" "It cost me five pound." "We wasn't there." Some people say they are mistakes while some others disagree.

What seems like a simple question: "Do British people make mistakes when they are speaking?", is actually rather complicated. Why is that?

In this programme Wang Fei and William interview Dr John O'Regan, a lecturer in education at the IOE (Institute of Education at the University of London) and try to find out the reasons. You will also have a chance to listen to many British people's opinions about today's question.

What your mouth! Have you been caught saying the wrong thing?
