“你從來都沒對(duì)我熱情過”，這句話不能這么翻譯，一定要反過來才可以：你一向?qū)ξ叶歼@么冷淡。舉個(gè)例子：He's never particular warmed to anybody. 他對(duì)誰都那樣，冷冰冰的。
4. I had a real search for...
Search for... 指的就是“找……”。有時(shí)候我們說 search for 會(huì)覺得語言表達(dá)得不夠生動(dòng)，為了表示強(qiáng)調(diào)，就會(huì)說I had a real search for...（我還真是費(fèi)了好大的力氣找了半天呢?。┍热纾篒 had a real search for my wallet. But I did that in vain. 我費(fèi)了好大的勁找我的錢包，但是還是沒找到！
5. On the right track
在理解這句話的意思之前，我們要先看一下 track 這個(gè)詞。通常情況下，track 指的是“路徑”的意思，等同于 path。在英文當(dāng)中我們有這樣的表達(dá)，be on the right path 正確的道路上/已經(jīng)有了正確的選擇。on the right track 也是同樣的意思。在本片斷中的 We might be on the right track. 指的就是“我們也許選對(duì)了”。
6. Don't show it around.
在這里做“不要到處炫耀”解。show sb. around 常用的意思是“帶某人隨便轉(zhuǎn)轉(zhuǎn)”。比如：Since this is the first time I'm in the capital of China, would you like to show me around or something? 這是我第一次到北京，你是否愿意帶我轉(zhuǎn)轉(zhuǎn)？

Banoffee pie
Pie 是西方人喜歡的一道美食。它可不止是漢語中的“餡餅”那么簡(jiǎn)單。在西式糕點(diǎn)中，也有pie的一席之地。Banoffee pie is a dessert made from biscuits, bananas, butter, cream and boiled condensed milk. Its name is a portmanteau (合成詞) constructed from the words "banana" and "toffee (太妃糖)".
Inventorship of the pie is claimed by Ian Dowding and Nigel Mackenzie of The Hungry Monk restaurant in Jevington, East Sussex. They claim to have invented the pie in 1972, and the restaurant's exterior bears a plaque to that effect. The recipe was never patented, however, and in 1994 a number of supermarkets began selling it as an American pie, leading Dowding and Mackenzie to offer a ?10,000 prize to anyone who could disprove their claim.
There is some discussion over the best spelling for the pie's name; The Hungry Monk preferring "banoffi" where the logical etymological spelling would be "banoffee", to correspond with "toffee". Other variations include "banoffy" and "bannofie".
