Ben Wilson, Chewing gum artist
"The very first chewing gum art was done about 2003, something like that. I started doing a trail in 2004, and I'm from Barnet, so north London, so I started the trail in Barnet and worked my way right into the centre of London.

"So, I am taking something that's literally thrown away and disgusting, taking 'eugh' and making it into 'mmm'. Everyone kept on coming up to me and saying, 'Will you do one for me?' "
"People from all walks of life, love messages, rest in peace pictures, there'[re] 'Will you marry me?' pictures – they can't, you know, they can't go! There's something that they can discover, and often you will see children jumping from picture to picture to picture. They'll destroy that trail and I'm thinking they're killjoys. Please, please celebrate the art. The art is lovely!"
"People come from all over the world and I celebrate the people that I meet when I work. And I think it's a poignant kind of message: let's transform rubbish into art. Let's make this world a better place."
